Providing counseling services for adults and children
Hello, my name is Kimberly Lockwood and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I hold a master's degree in Counseling from Spring Arbor University and a bachelor's degree in Family Life Education. I have worked with children, teens, and adults and had an internship at Michigan State University in the Career Counseling center. I have recently worked in the Community Mental Health field helping children and families navigate many different mental health issues including depression, anxiety, trauma, and grief. I believe everyone can reach an optimum state of mental health with hard work and dedication to the therapy process.
I work with individuals to improve mental health. Encourage clients to discuss emotions and experiences. Examine issues including substance abuse, aging, bullying, anger management, careers, depression, relationships, LGBTQ issues, self-image, stress and suicide. I employ an eclectic approach to therapy with a strong reliance on cognitive-behavioral aspects. I am excited to be working in the Standish area and am looking forward to helping the people of Arenac county.
